Starting from just $12,990, the new Nissan Micra is aiming its to take on segment leaders Hyundai Getz and Toyota Yaris head on. The current Micra (K12) came to Australia halfway through its product cycle a good three and a half years ago to fill the gap in the company’s line up whilst it got the new one ready.
The all-new Nissan Micra comes standard with Vehicle Dynamic Control, ABS brakes with electronic brake force and brake assist and front, side and curtain airbags on all models. The new Nissan Micra is available in three trim levels, ST, ST-L and Ti, with the top range model has features such as Nissan’s Intelligent Key and push button engine start / stop, the Climate control air conditioning, parking sensors, alloy wheels with 15 inch and fog lights. A five-speed manual transmission is standard with Nissan’s new CVT transmission is also available.
The all-new Nissan Micra comes standard with Vehicle Dynamic Control, Anti-Lock Brakes with Electronic Brake Force Distribution and Brake Assist, as well as front and side and curtain airbags on all models.
In the cabin, Bluetooth connectivity and a multifunction Drive Computer are standard, along with a unique digital anniversary reminder, air conditioning, remote entry, CD player, aux MP3 audio input jack and tilt-adjust steering column.
The new Nissan Micra will be available in three trim grades, ST, ST-L and Ti, with the range-topping model getting features such as the Nissan Intelligent Key and push button engine start/stop, climate-control air-conditioning, reversing sensors, 15-inch alloy wheels and front fog light
Mechanical:
For the Australian market, two engine choices will be on offer.
A naturally-aspirated 1.2 litre three-cylinder petrol engine developing 56kW and 100Nm of torque will form the entry-level engine for the Micra ST, listing fuel consumption figures of 5.9 l/100km and an emissions rating of 138g/km.
The ST-L and Ti get a 1.5 litre four-cylinder petrol engine producing 75kW and 136Nm, with fuel consumption listed at 6.6 l/100km in manual form and 6.6 l/100km in automatic form.
A five-speed manual transmission is standard, with Nissan's new Continuously Variable Transmission also available.
