Chevrolet has announced to launch Dieselversion of Beat. Price is not declared yet. Chevrolet has already started production of Beat Diesel in its Talegaon kohinoor plant which has capacity of manufacturing 1.6 lakh cars per year. Chevrolet Beat diesel, the much awaited small car in the Indian market, was recently caught testing on the Indian roads. Borrowing all of its design and style characteristics from the petrol version of the car, the Beat diesel will be hosting a completely different heart under the hood. Though the company is yet to reveal the pricing details of the car, it is widely speculated that the price of Beat diesel will beapproximately Rs 50,000 higher than its petrol counterpart. The major competitors of the Beat in the Indian market include Ford Figo, Nissan Micra, Maruti Swift and Ritz, and Volkswagen Polo.
The Chevrolet Beat Diesel will come powered by a 1.0L turbo charged diesel engine which will be delivering a peak power of 58.46 PS at 4000 rpm. The total weight of the car is claimed to be 1027 kgs. Moreover, the car will be having wider tyres, offering more stability to the car.
The diesel Chevrolet Beat model is scheduled to be launched in the month of June this year. The Beat diesel is expected to be a big hit in the Indian market as there has been a considerable decrease in the price gap between petrol and diesel fuels in the country and more and more mass segment buyers are opting for diesel run cars.
